The food we serve our children each day is full of great nutrients but also is kid-friendly.

By building good eating habits early on, children are set up for success later in life.

Fruits

We serve either fresh fruit, canned options, or 100% real fruit juice.

Children should have 2-3 servings each day.  These include things like 1/4 cup cooked, frozen, or canned fruit, 1/2 piece of fresh fruit, or 1/4 cup of 100% real juice.

Vegetables

We serve either fresh veggies or steamed options.

Children should have 2-3 servings each day.  These include things like 1/4 cup cooked vegetables or 1/2 cup of salad.

Grains

We serve whole wheat grains.

Children should have 6-11 servings each day.  These include things like 1/2 slice of bread, 1/4 cup cooked cereal, rice or pasta, 1/2 cup dry cereal, or 2-4 crackers.

Meats & Proteins

We serve lean meats and avoid pork products.

Children should have 2 servings each day.  These include things like 1 ounce of meat, fish, chicken, or tofu, 1/4-1/2 cup cooked beans, or 1/2 to 1 egg.

Dairy

We serve unflavored cow’s milk, cheeses, and yogurts.

Children should have 2-3 servings each day.  These include things like 1/2 cup milk, 1/2-1 ounce cheese, 1/2 cup yogurt.

We also offer Ripple Milk (for a small fee) for those who avoid cow’s milk.

To make sure everyone is ready to learn and grow, Ms. Bethany creates a varied menu of foods.  While we include favorites like cereal, we also create hot breakfasts to set everyone up for success.

At Little Beginnings, we are excited to have Ms. Bethany designing and making our snack time treats.  Snack time is essential to replenish the little ones who have been busy playing outdoors, learning, and moving all day!

Little Beginnings proudly makes lunches in-house as well.  We focus on fresh, whole foods.  While we will cater to our younger palates, we will also make sure each meal is full of healthy, seasonal options that anyone would be excited to eat.
